The 2nd Day of the 12 Books of the Holiday Season...Guest Blogger, author Karin Larson
When I think of my all-time favorite Christmas stories, it is so difficult to just choose one. As a child (and still as an adult), I loved ‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS. When I was in 2nd grade, we all had a portion to memorize and then presented it in full in a Christmas concert. I think I still have it memorized in its entirety! I also loved HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS and still enjoy it very much. As an adult, my favorite Christmas books have probably been THE PAPER BAG CHRISTMAS by Kevin Alan Milne and THE CHRISTMAS SHOES by Donna Van Liere. When I look at all of these stories, I think the reason I love them all so much is the focus on heart in each of them. Heart is what speaks to me as a reader and is what I always strive to give my readers in my own writing.
At this time, I don’t have a holiday book per se (though am in the process of roughing out some ideas I have for one), but my book, BEDTIME KISSES, is one that will always speak to my heart.
