What is That Strange Noise? by Karen Carr and her granddaughter Piper Andersen is full of whimsy and fun!
This rollicking tale is based on a game Karen and Piper have played while riding in Grandma’s car. How many and what strange sorts of animals will Piper think of to “invite” into the backseat with her? It’s clear this grandmother/granddaughter team have a strong and loving bond, which permeates every page. I love that the motorcycle is just one too many for the car! Colourful and quirky illustrations by K. C. Snider endear the reader and listener, young and old. The vivid images and the pile of animals loaded into the car will surely inspire young imaginations—something I fully endorse and appreciate! Maybe you and your grandchild can come up with your own version of this car game played by grandmother and granddaughter, after reading this lovely book together.
