Sad news this Good Friday...
My sweet toadie, Trevor, passed away. I found him buried deep in the soil of his tank. When I last saw him (a week or so ago) he looked very well, so I think he has died peacefully of old age. We've had him for at least 13 years now, and he was an adult when I adopted him from Menagerie Pet Shop here in Toronto, so he was probably anywhere from 15 years old to possibly in his twenties!
As I've mentioned in previous posts, Trevor was one of the animals that starred in my film, Space Zombies: 13 Months of Brain-Spinning Mayhem!, along with our wonderful kitty, Frodo, who passed only five months ago. They're together again at Rainbow Bridge, along with other amphibians of ours that Trevor has known.
Trevor played a monster toad-beast, who was "zapped" by nuclear waste seepage in Riverdale Farm’s pond in Toronto, Ontario. His character grew to an enormous size, trudged around the city leaving mayhem in his wake, then went on to battle a mutant starfish until the Space Zombies were able to take them both down and save the citizens of Toronto.
I'm sure Trevor has found his old friend Coriolanus, who died a couple years ago, at Rainbow Bridge, too...
Most surprisingly, I learned today that Trevor has more than one (other than Space Zombies) film credit! According to IMDb, he was also the Music Supervisor in 2015 for My Good Man's Gone, which is currently in post-production! He was probably working from home, secretly sending his work to his producers online whenever we happened to be away. Surely that's it, and not a mix-up with another Trevor Risk in the industry. ;)
He was a really awesome pet, and we're going to miss him a whole bunch! Rest well, and be plumply content, toadie-pie.
