Hey, y'all! I'm posting my reviews of three picture books by my good buddy Allison McWood - enjoy and check them out! ;) Delightful alliteration and tons of Italian food references pepper this Cowpoke picture book! Though the book tackles bullying issues, it does so with excellent humour (and savoury sauces!). This will be a tongue-twister of a read for parents, but it’s well worth it. The many inventive words (some almost made up) will give kids the giggles for sure. The illustrations are bright and bold and remind me a bit of Looney Toons. Nog is a picture book with rhymes that crackle and delight, and brings awareness to the good works by marine animal rescues and rescuers. Many a manatee can find itself injured in waters frequented by humans (especially humans in boats and big cruise ships), so rescue, rehabilitation and release programs will always be essential. This book conveys it’s poetic message to children with Christmas embellishments. The illustrations are absolutely adorable! You’ll fall in love with Nog and his rescuer this holiday season! Terrific, rhythmic rhymes tell a tale of a cat unlike any you’ve met before! McWood has a real way with words. This book sets out to assure kids everywhere that being different is NEVER a bad thing. Again, lovely illustrations by McCaughey with an air of manga. In a world full of bullies, this book conveys the important message to kids to be their all out selves.
