The Polka-Dotted Snake A rhyming good time! This book is as imaginative as a little boy who conjures up a polka-dotted snake in his imagination (meaning, it’s SUPER imaginative)! I love the colours in the adorable illustrations and everything the little boy imagines he would do with his best snake friend should his parents give him the titular polka-dotted snake. As always, Allison McWood has a gift for rhyming text that will be enjoyed by young listeners, older readers and adults alike! A shout out to Nadine McCaughey for the bright and pastel illustrations that make a snake irresistible, even in the eyes of folks who are not big fans of snakes. Snuggles the Misunderstood Shark
Let your kids get a better understanding of the ever misunderstood shark First off, let me say how cute, colourful and endearing the illustrations (by Nadine McCaughey) of each shark character are! Each shark has it’s own distinctive feature, and for a couple of them, that means they wear hats, and who doesn’t want to see a shark in an adorable hat? After reading this book to your children, you may find that they do indeed want to snuggle with a shark, but will also better understand the etiquette of sharing space and our environment with them. Allison McWood shows children several of the general misconceptions about sharks in a gentle way through the point of view of the sharks themselves, making the book both entertaining and educational—always a difficult balance that is well achieved here.
