Welcome, welcome, welcome, as John Oliver would say, to the first of my 13 blog series of posts celebrating the Horrifically Silly and the Ludicrously Terrifying elements of Halloween...be they books, movies, events or festivals...(to see my Facebook Live promoting this post, click HERE)... We begin with Daniel from Eyesore Cinema, an independent video store that stocks hard to find, less than mainstream movies (mostly in the horror or genre vein). They also sell books, magazines and a few other items of merchandise...plus there's an awesome cinema and event space in the back for screening the worst and most fun of B-movies, and whatever else they damn well feel like! October 19th is not only the first day of Halloween, it is also International Independent Video Store Day, which makes Eyesore Cinema the best choice to start the series. Check out my interview with Daniel, proprietor of said store and cinema... Visit Eyesore Cinema's Facebook Page. And find them in "real life" at 1176 Bloor St. West, Toronto, Ontario...be sure to check out their screenings, too. You can find all of the films we mentioned during the interview at Eyesore Cinema! Support local independent video stores! And check out videostoreday.com to find your local indie video store location and more... If you're interested in my series of novellas, the "Trilogy of Horrifically Half-baked Ham," here are the links: Space Zombies! (or Amazon) They Suck (or Amazon) Horror at Terror Creek (or Amazon) ...and now, you can also get these books through Eyesore Cinema! If you'd like your own copy of my very own feature film B-movie parody (including my short film parody, The Scary Bitch Project, in the special features) you can buy the DVD of my feature film, Space Zombies: 13 Months of Brain-Spinning Mayhem! from my website, or through Eyesore Cinema! You can also see Space Zombies: 13 Months of Brain-Spinning Mayhem! through iTunes (rent or buy) Want to check out that song from Horror at Terror Creek that I mentioned? It's called Christopher's Turn, music by Scott McCord (lyrics by me and also Scott McCord), and you'll find it on my Triple Take Productions site! And don't forget to sign up for my NEW EMAIL LIST, tailored specifically to B-movie, horror-comedy and Frankenfiction aficionados like yourself (whether it's a new or casual sort of thing for you or also if you are a hardcore fan). Below, you will find a gallery of photos I took around the shop after shooting the interviews with Kimmie. Some of the covers of videos they stock have been recreated out of necessity, but we're sure glad this is a thing, as are particularly special! And just for a bit of fun...here's that demonic, red-eyed, floating pig from the Amityville Horror...
